LE ROY — Southern Coffey County High’s boys grabbed the early lead Friday against visiting Marmaton Valley and never looked back.
The Titans lead was in double digits by the end of the first quarter, and grew from there in a 58-32 win.
“We just got outhustled,” Marmaton Valley head coach Denny Lasley said. “We had our moments. I thought Zach Louk played his heart out on defense. But we had too many turnovers.”
The Titans increased their lead to 39-21 by halftime. Marmaton Valley was unable to come back in the second half.
Lasley pointed to the Wildcats’ 40-percent shooting from both the field and free-throw line.
“It seemed like the basket had a lid on it,” he said.
Aaron Ludolph led Southern Coffey County with 6 points, followed by Travis Bryan with 11 and Chyler Ludolph with 10.
Tanner Lewis paced Marmaton Valley with 10 points and four steals. Ethan Ericson and Kurtis LaRue both had six rebounds. Dalton Houk handed out four assists.
