HUMBOLDT — Plans are still a go for a weekend filled with racing at Humboldt Speedway, even with rainy weather that saturated the area Monday and Tuesday.
There are a few adjustments to the schedule for the upcoming King of America XI and Battle at the Bullring racing events.
Wednesday’s practice has been scrapped altogether, with the first night of races still set for Thursday.
Races run nightly, Thursday through Saturday, with both of the main features set for Saturday evening.
Total purses for the weekend will top $200,000.
“We want to get this whole race in on Thursday, Friday and Saturday — that is the plan,” USMTS promoter Todd Staley said in a press release.
Officials were set to determine Wednesday whether any practice sessions will be allowed on top of the races.
Modified racers will compete Thursday for $3,000 to win; Friday’s main event winner garners $5,000. The King of America Feature will see a top prize of $15,000 Saturday.
Meanwhile, the B-Modified racers, taking part in the Battle at the Bullring, will vie for $1,000 each on Thursday and Friday, before Saturday’s feature brings in $10,000.
The Battle At the Bullring originally was set for the weekend of March 4, but was pushed back to this weekend because of rainy weather.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.
