Wildcats top Titans, fall against St. Paul

MORAN — The Marmaton Valley volleyball program picked up another win over Southern Coffey County on Tuesday.
The Wildcats beat the Titans in straight sets. They  won the first set 25-17 and took the second set 25-16.
Makayla Brooks led the Wildcat attack with five kills and senior Misty Storrer was the star from the service line with nine points and also added four kills.
“The girls came ready to play,” Wildcat coach  Terra Kegler said. “I just hope these games give them the confidence they need for the rest of the season.”
Senior Kyla Drake tried to lead her team to another win in its second contest of the day, but the Wildcats fell in three sets to St. Paul.
Drake finished the match with 13 kills and 10 points on serve.
The Wildcats won the first set 25-22, but lost heartbreakers in the second and third set 27-25 and 25-23.
“I was disappointed that we lost to St. Paul, because I know, and the girls know, we should have won that one,” Kegler said.

JUNIOR VARSITY
The junior varsity had a dominant showing against St. Paul by winning in straight sets, 25-3 and 25-13.
The junior varsity lost to Southern Coffey County in three sets. The Titans won the first set 25-21. The Wildcats responded with a 25-15 second set win, but SCC won the third set 15-9.
