Yates Center High School’s varsity and JV volleyball teams competed as part of a four-team tournament in Hartford on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats’ JV team kicked off the night with a split game against Hartford (15-7 7-15) and a tightly contested loss against Marais des Cygnes Valley (15-13, 15-11).
The varsity squad had better luck by earning two wins to begin the night before closing out with a loss.
Yates Center swept Hartford in two sets (25-20 25-20), beat Crest in three (25-20 20-25 25-13) and lost to MdCV in three (21-25, 25-14, 25-18).
