Ronald “R.J.” West, Jr., 54, Iola, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at his home.
R.J. was born Nov. 24, 1959, in Bellingham, Wash., the son of Ronald J. and Donnalee (Dux) West Sr.
The family lived in numerous communities before moving to Iola in 1984. On Nov. 16, 1985, he married Stacy Lee Spencer and they made their home in Iola. R.J. worked as a driller in the oil fields for 35 years.
His wife, Stacy Lee, survives, as do two sons, Robert West and Austin Sicka; a daughter, Nicole West; two sisters, Rebecca Paulman and Gayle Stende; three grandchildren, Ryan J. West and Ashlynn and Caden Sicka; his mother-in-law, Patty Spencer, Colony; and his brother-in-law, Mark Spencer.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service for inurnment of the ashes in Highland Cemetery will be announced later by Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
