MVJH volleyball sweeps Pleasanton

Marmaton Valley Junior High's volleyball A and B teams both picked up wins on the road Thursday at Pleasanton.

PLEASANTON — A Thursday road trip was a successful one for Marmaton Valley Junior High’s volleyball team.

The Wildcat A and B teams both brought home wins against host Pleasanton.

The A team rolled to a 25-19 and 25-10 victory, while the B team prevailed, 25-20, in both sets.

“The teams tonight had much better serving percentages,” Marmaton Valley head coach Brenda Mills aid. “We had some great saves and volleys.”

A team leaders were Taylen Blevins and Addisyn Drake, each with 10 points, Layla Cook, five points, Emma Michael and Andie Carr, three points each, and Jae Beachner, two.

Evva Sander racked up 14 points to lead the Wildcat B team, followed by Myleigh Eslick and Mahala Burris, six each, and Reagan Marshall, Adisyn Pritchard and Drake with three each.

The A team’s record improves to 5-5, while the B team will take its 4-1 record to Iola Saturday for a tournament.
