Maria Aikins, who formerly coached volleyball at Hutchinson High School, has been hired as the next head volleyball coach at Allen Community College.
Aikins’s hiring was approved Tuesday by college trustees. She also will be in charge of the school’s intramurals program.
Aikins replaces Whitney Shaw, who resigned earlier this spring.
In other personnel actions, trustees accepted the resignation of Rebecca Bilderback as dean for academic affairs-online and math instructor Doug Joseph.
Tyre Pinder was hired as assistant men’s basketball coach and residence hall director.
Trustees also approved a three-year master agreement with faculty and salary increases for staff.
