The daughters of Floyd and Dixie Woods, residents of Pittsburg, Kansas, are both grateful and proud to acknowledge their parents’ 60th wedding anniversary. The occasion was celebrated on Sept. 25, 2025. The couple was married Sept. 25, 1965, at the First Christian Church in Columbus, Kansas.
Mrs. Woods is the daughter of the late Dale and Zelma Dungan of rural Columbus, while Mr. Woods is the son of the late Adrian and Margaret Woods of Crestline.
Mrs. Woods is a retired elementary school teacher who chose to be a stay-at-home mother during her daughters’ early years. She taught a total of 20 years: one in the Galena School District and 19 in the Chanute School District, later to provide day care for their grandsons.
Mr. Woods is a retired high school administrator, teacher, and coach. He worked in education for 33 years, serving in the Bronson/Uniontown, Galena, Southeast, and Humboldt School Districts.
The couple has two daughters: Julie Mahnken and her husband, Bryan, also of Pittsburg, and Jana Jones and her husband, Bruce, of Sanibel, Florida. They also share a great love for their six grandsons, Seth, Sage, Shay, John Paul, Harrison, and Truman.
