Safety concerns raised over Neosho wind farm
ERIE A proposed wind farm in Neosho County continues to draw complaints from opponents, according to The Chanute Tribune. Safety issues were raised recently by one of 45 plaintiffs in a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the Neosho Ridge Wind project. The plaintiff complained about a dump truck that dropped rock on U.S. 59 and about work on 80th Road that he said holds up traffic for 15 minutes. He said the wind farm developer, Apex, destroyed $30,000 worth of crops in 48 hours. Apex is building 139 wind-powered turbines to produce 300 megawatts of electricity.
