More than 20,000 people attended Humboldt’s Biblesta celebration Saturday.

An open house will be conducted Sunday afternoon at the Iola Medical Arts Building. The building, constructed by Iola Industries, Inc., is connected to the Allen County Hospital and includes the offices of three physicians, Drs. David Hanson, Tell Copening and Willis Dick.

Dr. John Leslie Norton, son of Judge and Mrs. Leslie Norton, Iola, will be honored Saturday as one of eight outstanding young alumni of Kansas State College of Pittsburg. The recognition is part of KSCP’s annual homecoming event. Norton is employed at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory and energy research and development administration national laboratory run by the University of California at Los Alamos. He is a 1966 physics graduate of KSCP and received the Woodrow Wilson and National Science Foundation graduate fellowships.
