Thrive Allen County has received a grant for $2,500 to improve the existing Humboldt community garden.
The grant will help make the garden more accessible to older residents.
AARP Kansas awarded Community Challenge grants to five organizations throughout the state on July 10.
Nationally, 310 organizations received grants from AARP totaling $3.6 million. Grantees will implement quick-action projects that help communities become more livable by improving public places; transportation; housing; digital connections; diversity, equity and inclusion; and more, with an emphasis on the needs of adults age 50 and older.
