HUMBOLDT — Due to inclement weather, Friday night’s “Smash the Stigma” event at Humboldt Speedway has been postponed.

The event has been rescheduled for Friday, July 10, and all event times will remain the same.

The car-smashing portion of the evening will begin at 6 p.m. at Humboldt Speedway, 1663 Georgia Rd. in Humboldt. Gates open at 5 p.m.

The event is a partnership between Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center (SEKMHC), Zero Reasons Why Allen County and Humboldt Speedway.

Participants will be invited to write stigmatizing words, labels and negative messages associated with mental health struggles on a vehicle before symbolically destroying them with sledgehammers, bats and other tools.
