The Iola Public Library Intrepid Readers, a book discussion group that meets monthly, will discuss The Overstory by Richard Powers.
Powerss novel, the winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, is a story of nine Americans whose unique life experiences with trees bring them together to address the destruction of forests.
The selection replaces First: Sandra Day OConnor by Evan Thomas, which originally had been slated for the book discussion group.
The Intrepid Readers will meet at 2 p.m. Aug. 1 at the library meeting room.
