Boyd named one of top KU Scholars

LAWRENCE — Clara Boyd, a sophomore at the University of Kansas and 2018 graduate of Marmaton Valley High School,  has been named one of 30 University Scholars at KU.

Scholars receive a $1,500 scholarship and are assigned a faculty mentor to support the development of their academic interests and engagement with research. They are selected based on their rigorous academic achievement, intellectual promise, curiosity and leadership.

Boyd is paired with mentor Nancy Hamilton, a psychology instructor at KU.

University Scholars was founded in 1982.

Boyd is the daughter of Mark and Patti Boyd of rural Moran.
