Southwind Extension District is offering opportunities for food service managers, workers, volunteers, and individuals to learn more about food safety and how to prevent foodborne illness.

A ServSafe food handlers class is Sept. 9 in Iola. Paid registration of $15 per person is due Sept. 3.

The three-hour class is geared for anyone who cooks and/or handles food served outside their home kitchen. Workers in restaurants, nursing homes or hospitals, day care, schools, concessions stands, church and community dinner cooks and servers are encouraged to attend.
