Honesty still the best policy
An Allen County sheriffs deputy investigating two suspicious persons in the 400 block of South Street in Iola Monday morning arrested Charles D. Hammett, 47, Dexter, Mo., on suspicion of interference with a law enforcement officer after Hammett allegedly gave a false name in an attempt to avoid arrest for a Missouri warrant.
The warrant was later found to be non-extraditable, the deputy noted that if Hammett would have given his correct name when asked, he would not have been arrested.
