Iolan arrested for reported rape

Iola police officers were called to Allen County Regional Hospital Thursday for a reported sexual assault victim.

Following an investigation, officers arrested Steve Holtz, 39, Iola, in the 400 block of South State St., and are requesting a charge of rape be filed through the Allen County attorney’s office.

The arrest was the second of the week for Holtz, who was arrested Monday for suspected driving while suspended in the 400 block of North Jefferson Ave.

Vehicle recovered; Iola man arrested

Steven R. Sinclair, 40, Iola, was arrested by Allen County sheriff’s deputies Sunday after being found in possession of a stolen 2007 Dodge Ram truck. 

A search warrant was executed on Sinclair’s property and several items alleged to be stolen out of the vehicle were recovered, deputies said.

Sinclair is being held without bond.

Arrests reported

Tara J. Winkler, 38, vagrant, was arrested on Tuesday at a residence in Moran on suspicion of violating a protection order and trespassing.

Derick J. Wallace, 20, Chanute, was arrested by an Allen County deputy Wednesday on four warrants from Allen County, Neosho County  and Chanute alleging failure to appear in court to face charges of DUI, disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of an accident, no liability insurance, a noise complaint, driving while suspended, minor in possession/consumption of alcohol and transporting an open container of alcohol.

Katy L. Hill, 28, Iola, was arrested early Thursday morning by an Allen County deputy following a traffic stop on U.S. 54 for suspicion of driving while suspended (third offense) and on a warrant alleging failure to appear in court related to charges of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Iola police officers arrested Koi A. Ginder, 44, Elsmore, Thursday in the 400 block of South State Street for suspicion of driving while suspended, transporting an open container of alcohol, expired registration and no liability insurance.

Parked truck hit; alcohol suspected

Iola police officers said Jocelyn B. Miller was westbound on Neosho Street Sunday evening, when the pickup she was driving struck a parked pickup owned by Tradeonn H. Mitchell, just west of Walnut Street.
