The Iola Municipal Pool will not open Monday as previously scheduled.
Stormy weather, which flooded portions of Riverside Park, prompted city officials to empty the pool of chemicals and other equipment, Assistant City Administrator Corey Schinstock said.
When fears of worse flooding never materialized the water never breached the pool area or bathhouse crews began adding chemicals once again on Thursday and turning on the circulation system.
However, the work has prevented the city from allowing lifeguards and other staffers to prepare the pool for upcoming swim season.
Schinstock anticipated seeing the pool open sometime late next week.
