Comedian, singer and songwriter Aaron Wilburn will bring his southern gospel charm to the Bowlus Fine Arts Center Saturday when he headlines the next Southeast Kansas Christian Artist Series performance.

Wilburn has garnered nationwide acclaim with his down-home humor as he talks about his southern roots, family and faith.

“There is no generation gap with laughter,” he said.

As a long-time host and featured performer of the Gaither Homecoming Tour, Wilburn has gained fame for his musical talent, earning multiple Dove Awards and Grammy nominations.

He was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and then named as its official host.

“It’s gonna be a good show,” said Dee Singer, SEKCAS board member. “If you’re in the mood to laugh, you should come watch.”

JOINING WILBURN is the Georgetown, Ohio-based Soul’D Out Quartet.

Soul’d Out Ministries was formed in 2001 as a trio and then reformed as an all-male quartet in 2004.

The group has become a full-time ministry, touring 25 states a year and performing in churches, theaters, fairs, festivals and in such locales as Silver Dollar City and Dollywood. They’ve also taken the main stage at the National Quartet Convention.

Soul’d Out Quartet has won Singing News Magazine’s Horizon Group of the Year Award and SoGospelnews.com’s Breakthrough Artist Award.

Advance tickets for Saturday’s show sell for $15 for orchestra seating and $12 for the balcony. Tickets the day of the show go to $18 and $15, respectively. Student tickets in the balcony are available for $6 apiece. Advance tickets can be purchased by calling 365-7496.
