It may be a few weeks before it looks a lot like Christmas, and Ann Lea is looking for help.

Lea and daughter Chelsea are once again decorating Iola’s downtown business district for the holidays.

Light displays will be set up on all four corners of the courthouse square, Lea said.

The goal is to provide a showy display spectators can view from the comfort of their vehicles.

The Leas took the decorating baton from Tracy Keagle in 2020, and hope to make this year’s display even more elaborate.

That’s where she needs help.

“We kept what lights we had, but we didn’t have a lot,” Lea said.

The Leas are asking for donations to purchase additional lights.

Donations can be arranged by calling Lea at (620) 228-3424, or by stopping by Miss Chelsea’s Dance Academy on South Street.

Plans are to decorate the corners in November so the lights are ready by Thanksgiving.
