Elmore Patterson, administrator of Allen County Regional Hospital, will take on the duties as administrator of Anderson County Hospital in Garnett as well, according to a news release from Saint Luke’s Health System.

Patterson’s additional responsibilities begin Aug. 1.

He assumed management of the Iola hospital in 2020.

Overseeing two hospitals is well within Patterson’s toolbox, said Steve Schieber, CEO of Saint Luke’s Critical Access Region.

“Elmore has already proven himself to be an excellent leader during his time at Allen County Regional Hospital,” Schieber said. “He has spent significant time familiarizing himself with Saint Luke’s, the physicians, staff, and services at both Allen County and Anderson County, and has become an integral part of the Iola community.”

Schieber said the dual management model has been successful at its hospitals in Chillicothe, Mo. and Trenton, Mo., by creating “efficiencies” that help deliver a better patient experience.

Patterson replaces Rich McKain, administrator since 2016, who will turn his attention to radiology and outpatient imaging services with Saint Luke’s Health System.
