Iolan Reinhold Blomquest III, 62, was killed Monday morning in a road construction accident in rural Montgomery County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Blomquest was working on a road just east of U.S. 169 about seven miles north of Coffeyville, when he stepped in the path of a truck backing to unload asphalt. He was struck by the trailer.
Blomquest was taken to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola.
