The Allen Community College jazz ensemble and madrigal jazz singers will host a swing dance 7-11 p.m. Friday at the Iola Elks Lodge.
Donations of $10 per person or $15 per couple are suggested. Proceeds will go to the ACC music department and the American Heart Association.
The evening promises to be packed with fun.
The festivities will kick off with long-time ACC instructor Roger Campbell providing a brief instruction on swing dance lessons.
The band and singers take center stage at 7:30.
Attendees are encouraged to put their new-found swing dance skills to use as the students perform a number of jazz standards.
Staci Talkington of Chartwells Food Service will provide hors d’oeuvres, while Steven Taylor will provide DJ music as well.
One note: while the dance will be at the Elks lodge, alcohol sales will be off limits, instructor Ted Clous said.
