Mary Lou Strunk, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in Iola. She was born Jan. 17, 1927, in Hamilton, to George and Ethel (Hughes) Noble. She attended school at Leon. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Dillon Strunk on Oct. 27, 1945, in Iola. She resided in Iola with her husband, Dillon, for most of their 57 years of marriage. She worked in various jobs including an aircraft plant in Wichita. She loved going to the lake and river, camping with family and friends. Some of her fondest memories were visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being outdoors and doing yard work.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Ted Noble, sisters Phyliss Beck, Norma Parker, Nancy Switzer, grandson Martin Omer Strunk and great-grandson Cole Michael Creason.
Mary Lou is survived by daughters Janice and husband Harold Creason, Bonner Springs, Mickey and husband Don Rutledge, Iola, sons David and wife Annette Strunk, Mooreland, Okla., Danny and wife Theresa Strunk, Iola; grandchildren Shane and wife Jill Creason, Shawnee, Randy and wife Shannon Creason, Bonner Springs, Kim and husband Karlton Buisch, Shawnee, Jeff and wife Jen Stalnaker, Leawood, Jaci and husband Jared Warner, Iola, Nicholas and wife Lacey Strunk, Mooreland, Okla., JaCoby and wife Chelsea Strunk, Woodward, Okla., Craig Strunk and Cory Strunk, Iola, and 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimers/Dementia Fund in care of Feuerborn Funeral Home, Iola. Online condolences may be made at Feuerborn Funeral Home website. Memorial service will be at Feuerborn Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m., Aug. 25.
