Thompson files to keep seat

TOPEKA – Kent Thompson has filed to retain his 9th District seat with the Kansas House of Representatives. Thompson, R-LaHarpe, has Kent Thompson served in the Houset since 2013.

“Southeast Kansas is my home. My roots run deep,” said Thompson. “I want to make sure our community has a strong voice in Topeka.”

Thompson currently serves as the House Majority Whip. He also serves as vice chairman of the House Agriculture Committee and as a member of the Financial Institutions and Pensions Committee, Local Government Committee, and Water and Environment Committee. He also spent a year as chairman of the House Rural Caucus.
