Angela Janette “Angie” Maley, 47, Iola, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 20, 2018, after she lost her courageous battle with cancer. Angie was born on Jan. 13, 1971, in Iola, to Floyd “Mike” Leslie and Winona Malloy Leslie.

Angie graduated from the Iola High School in 1989. She graduated from Allen Community College and then attended Emporia State University.

Angie and Jason Maley were married on June 25, 1994, in Iola.

Angie worked for Haldex in Iola for 16 years and then she was a para-educator for USD 257 for two years. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Iola. Angie was a member of her special lunch club, “Team Angie,” where she and her girlfriends shared lunch together.

Angie was very proud and the number one fan of her children, ranging from dance, to cheer, to baseball, and to soccer. She traveled as far as New York for her daughters’ dance competitions. Angie’s grandson was the “apple of grandma’s eye!” She had the ability to make others laugh and enjoy life, but was also known to be sassy.

Angie is survived by her husband, Jason, of the home; one son, Brody, Iola; four daughters, Brooke and her fiancée, Tyler Tomlinson, Iola, Torrie and her boyfriend, A.J. Cates, Iola, Brylee, Iola, and Taelyn, Iola; her parents; one sister, Tiffany Young and husband Roy, Iola; one grandson, Easton Maley, Iola; two nephews, Keynan Stahl and Lyam Young, Iola; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Angie was preceded in death by an infant son, Dalton Maley; her grandparents, Earnest and Faye Malloy and Floyd and Olive Leslie; and her mother- and father-in-law, Glen and Florence Maley.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Angie requested cremation follow her funeral service. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Maley Children Educational Fund, and memorials may be left at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola.
