Lewis “Ben” Burke, 80, Iola, died Monday, June 15, 2015, at his home.
Ben was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Piqua, the son of John L. and Loretta M. Burke. On May 11, 1955, he married Wilma J. Wille and they made their home near Piqua. He worked for Arbuckle Motors, Wichman Ford, and then Consolidated Oil in Chanute before retiring. His wife preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2005.
Survivors are his son Danny Burke, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Kathy Eichstaedt, Wichita, and Laurie Sampson and husband Kenny, Iola; one brother, Don Burke, Olathe; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and friend Madalyn Varnell.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and David.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Piqua.
Memorials may be made to St. Martin’s Cemetery Fund and may be left with Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel.
