Billie D. May passed to his heavenly reward on Jan. 10, 2018, in Moran.  
Mr. May was born on May 22, 1930, to Bryan D. and Lena A. (Hunt) May in Barber County. After graduating from Hardtner High School, he joined his father in farming. The family then moved to the Moran area. Bill married Marilyn Houk (daughter of Earl and Opal Houk) on Jan. 18, 1952, and left almost immediately to serve in the military. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army overseas as a staff sergeant during the Korean Conflict. 
Mr. May worked in oil production, spending many years in Hays, then took his family to Ahwaz, Iran. After their return stateside, Bill worked in Fairfax, Okla., Caldwell, Texas, and South America for a short time. After retiring, Bill and Marilyn moved to Cleveland, Okla. They enjoyed sharing music at the Western Heights Baptist Church. Bill played the guitar and sang in the choir and served as deacon.
Survivors are his wife of 65-plus years, Marilyn (Houk) May of Moran, son Tracy F. (Kathy) May of Livingston, Texas, and grandson Joseph Pasket and great-granddaughter, Julianna Garza, a very beloved child.
Other survivors include sister Joyce Pulliam of Clearwater, brother Mancel (Mary) May of Kingston, Texas, and sisters-in-law Nancy (Wayne) Chandler and Ruth (David) Spangler, all of Moran. Many, many nephews and nieces will miss Uncle Bill.
His death was preceded by those of his parents, brothers Foy Don May and Leo C. May and sister Zelpha (Bobbie) Nichols.  
Cremation has taken place.  A family service led by Lloyd Houk took place Friday.
