Clifford L. Wilson, 72, formerly of Gas and Dodge City, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at his home in Fort Scott.
He was born Jan. 29, 1942, to George and Dannie (Gregg) Wilson of Gas. He was one of 13 children. He attended grade school in Gas and graduated from Iola High School in 1960.
He worked with his brothers as a painter and also drove a milk truck. He enjoyed playing the guitar with his brothers and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being outdoors. He loved spending time with family and friends.
On June 23, 1961, Clifford married Betty Tremain in Gas. In 1966 they moved to Dodge City, where he went to work for Southwestern Bell for 36 years. He retired and moved to Fort Scott in 2003.
Survivors include his wife Betty; four children, Bill Wilson and wife Tracy, Kearney, Neb., Regina Wilson, Dodge City, Carla Wilson, Dodge City, and Brent Wilson and wife Barb, Minneola; nine grandchildren, Chelsea and Emely Wilson, Kearney, Neb., Sharde and Zack Pfaff, Hays, Andrea and Sheena Holden, Dodge City, and Jonathon, Taryn and Harley Wilson, Minneola; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Marr, Darlene Burton and Martha Conley; two brothers, Gary and Jim Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
