Donna Faye Rhudy-Hawn, 74, died Sunday, July 4, 2010.
She was born July 20, 1935, in Girard, to Carl and Mable VanDyke-Rhudy. She was one of seven children and grew up in Girard.
In 1951, she married David L. Hawn of Pittsburg. They followed his career with the U.S. Army and made their home in Merriville, Ind., for 16 years before moving to Iola 33 years ago.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society, was certified in Indiana Research and a licensed interior decorator. She enjoyed researching genealogy.
She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, David Lee II and his wife, Janet, Crown Point, Ind., a daughter, Kathleen Maple and her husband, Randy Lee, Iola; two brothers, Emery Rhudy, Washington, D.C., and Dr. Thomas Richard Rhudy, Rockwall, Texas; two sisters, Evelyn Carlene Sell-Preston, Joplin, Mo., and Connie Leota Sponsel, Girard; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
A brother, Billy Ray Rhudy, sister, Vivian Kay Tournear, and a great-grandchild, Elijah Alexander Gonzalez, died earlier.
Graveside services were this afternoon in Girard Cemetery Patio. The Rev. Matt Bycroft officiated.
