Doris K. Johnson, 85, of Humboldt died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Moran Manor.
Doris was born in Coffeyville, the daughter of Col. Kindrick and Miriam (Gabel) Kindrick.
She was united in marriage with Fred Carlton Johnson on Dec. 21, 1947, in Coffeyville. He preceded her in death in July, 2001.
Doris attended Coffeyville public schools and Pittsburg State University, earning a degree in education.
She served the community as a substitute teacher and as a clerk for the subsidized housing program in Humboldt. She enjoyed bowling outings and bridge club.
She is survived by her son, Greg, Simi Valley, Calif.; her daughter, Pamela Richards, Wales, United Kingdom; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren and another soon to come.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Heady, Georgia Dunwoody and Margaret Windle, a brother, Robert Kindrick, and a granddaughter, Kimberly Richards.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Humboldt United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.
Private family burial will take place on Monday at Restlawn Cemetery in Coffeyville.
