Eleanor Imbusch Williams, 89, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott.
She was born Aug. 28, 1920, on the family farm at Brazilton, to Martin and Nora (Boettjer) Imbusch. She grew up in Brazilton and attended Lutheran Grade School. She graduated from high school in Girard. Following high school she taught at a country school east of Savonburg.
On Dec. 23, 1938, she married Hollis “Bill” Williams in Meade. They worked at an orchard in Oregon for a few years before returning to his family farm northeast of Savonburg. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. He died in January 2000.
She was a member of Friends Home Lutheran Church and a neighborhood club in Savonburg. She enjoyed traveling. Some of her trips included going to Australia and Europe.
She is survived by her brother, Merlin Imbusch and his wife, Wilma, Littleton, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Carol Sandefur, Wichita; and nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
A sister, Wilma Sandefur, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Friends Home Lutheran Church in Savonburg. The family will greet friends at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Brazilton.
