Gerald Dean Clay, Humboldt, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at the Olathe Hospice House. Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel of Independence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at noon Friday at the Faith Assembly of God in Humboldt. Visition will be prior to the service at 11 a.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Olathe Hospice House, 15310 S. Marion St, Olathe, KS 66061, and can be left with Potts Chapel to defer service expenses.
Gerald Dean Clay was born Dec. 7, 1938, in Humboldt. He was the son of Levi M. and Wilma (Wiley) Clay. Gerald grew up in and around the area, attending Humboldt High School. He then joined the United States Navy. He married Wanda (Ridge) Clay. To this union two daughters were born, Cheryl and Carol. They later divorced. Later he married Margie Crabtree.
Gerald worked at the Brick Yard in Humboldt, the Pipeline and then the Santé Fe Railroad. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, BBQ’s and loved spending time with his family.
Gerald is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Anderson and Carol Angleton; two stepsons, Robert Braden and Keith Watts, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife Margie, his parents, brother Darrel and sister Marlene Morehead.
