Harry E. Carter, 72, Overland Park, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Olathe Medical Center.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe, with visitation beginning an hour earlier.
The only child of William and Beatrice Carter, Harry was born in Hudson, N.Y. After serving in the Air Force from 1961 to 1965, he was an accounts manager for IBM for 29 years.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann (Leake); a son, Jeffrey Carter and wife Monica; a daughter, Kristin Tischer and husband Jeff; a grandson, Jackson Tischer; granddaughters Madeleine and Paris Carter, and soon-to-arrive baby girl Tischer; along with numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
