June L. Wichman, 89, of Iola, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Windsor Place, Iola.
June was born June 23, 1923, at Deshler, Neb., the daughter of Vernon and Gertrude (Brown) Coit. She moved with her family to Kansas City, Mo., where she graduated from Southeast High School.
On Dec. 29, 1945, June married Dale Wichman and they made their home in Kansas City until moving to Iola in 1959 when they purchased the Ford dealership. She worked as a bookkeeper for 27 years for Wichman Ford before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting and making crafts. Mr. Wichman preceded her in death July 21, 1998.
Survivors are her three children, Richard D. Wichman and wife Susan, Janis Kress and husband Charles II, and Julie Payne, all of Iola; three grandsons, Seth, Cale and Brad Kress; and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Tallon Kress. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Coit Jr. and Ronald Coit.
Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment services will be in Iola’s Highland Cemetery.
