Keith Allen “Bubba” Watts, 55, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in Humboldt. He was born Nov. 20, 1962, in Arkansas City, to Gerald Dean and Margie Lee (Smith) Clay. He graduated from Winfield High School before making his home in Humboldt.
Keith married LaDonna Shields in Chanute on Aug. 14, 1998. She survives at their home.
Keith was a loving family man and loved being a dad and grandpa. He loved animals and thought the world of his dog, Abby. Keith enjoyed outdoor activities, and fishing was one of his favorite pastimes. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. Keith had many friends and was known to help others any chance he got and would give the shirt off his back, if needed. He worked for Koch Industries for almost 15 years where he enjoyed traveling worldwide before starting his current employment at B & W Trailer Hitches where he has worked for 19 years.
He also is survived by his children, Austin Miller and wife Garylynn, Winfield, Chris Koch and wife Shawn, Valley Center, Nichole and husband Shawn Orton, Clever, Mo., Aaron Koch, Chanute, Lacey Brown, Winfield, Molly Brown, Winfield, and Ruth Hawkinson, Chanute; siblings, Robert Braden and wife Bridget, Humboldt, Catherine Crabtree, Danville, Ark., Carol Angleton and husband Dwight, Humboldt, and Cheryl Anderson, Humboldt; and 18 grandchildren, two nephews and four nieces.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Margie Clay.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel. A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Church of Christ in Chanute. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt. Memorials have been suggested to Deer Creek Animal Hospital and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
