Eldin “Lee” Cline, 66, Iola, died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Windsor Place in Iola.
Lee was born March 12, 1949, in Iola, the son of Eldin Verrill “Casey” and Glennis “Maxine” (Estabrook) Cline. He grew up in Iola and on farms west of town. Lee graduated from Iola High School in 1967 and Allen County Junior College in 1969.
On Jan. 25, 1970, Lee married Cathy Saxton at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. They have made their home in Iola most of their married lives. He retired from Gates after 30 years.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
His wife of 45 years survives, as do two sons, Justin Cline, Overland Park, and Matt Cline and wife Anna, Lindale, Texas; two grandchildren, Ian and Khyrie Cline; a sister, Ardith Harris and husband Leon, Iola; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Saxton, Iola.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Jackie Cline, and nephew, Stuart Harris.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Memorial gifts to Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), Salem United Methodist Church or Wesley United Methodist Churches may be left with Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangments.
