Marilyn E. Prock, 61, Iola, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Marilyn was born March 13, 1953, in Iola, the daughter of Lewis Rivers and Betty Arleene (Estep) Howland. The Howland family lived in several states following the aircraft industry before returning to Iola.
On Sept. 15, 1970, Marilyn married James Prock in Amarillo, Texas. They made their home in LaHarpe, Moran, and Las Vegas before settling in Iola. She has worked at L and M Truck Stop, Midland Brake and for the past 17 years at Russell Stover Candies in Iola.
She was an amazing Grandma who doted on her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years; three children, Tiffany Prock, Iola, Jason Prock and wife Sara Nicole, LaHarpe, and Krystal Doolittle and husband Scotty, Neosho Falls; two sisters, Evelyn Boyers and Mary Ann Howland, both of Iola; five grandchildren, Serandin and Annalysia Prock and Alora, Jayce and Holly Doolittle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Betty Howland, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel in Iola. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola, at a later date.
