Patsy Ruth Davies Nott, 82, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Moran Manor after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born May 30, 1932, in Liberal to Price J. and Adeline Davies. She graduated from Liberal High School and attended Kansas State University, becoming a member of the KSU cheerleading squad and ADPi Sorority. In 1954 Patsy graduated with dual degrees from the University of Kansas (BS in Nursing) and Kansas State University (BS in Home Economics). From this point forward, she remained a passionate ambassador for her beloved K-State and “Purple Pride.”

Patsy married Edward C. “Bud” Nott, Jr. in 1954. Bud was a U.S. Navy pilot and over the course of his 22-year career the family moved frequently with his deployments to diverse locations around the United States and the world, eventually settling in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1971 where Patsy continued to live until shortly before her death. Over the next 40 years, Patsy was involved in numerous organizations including the Kansas State University Alumni Association Board of Directors, International Order of Rainbow Girls, Colorado American Legion Girls State, American Business Women’s Association, Ronald McDonald House and the Colorado Springs Symphony. She loved spending her summers at the family cabin in Cuchara, Colo.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Willa Francis and John Ragland. She is survived by her children, Deborah Nott, La Veta, Colo., Jerry Nott (Merrie), La Veta, Colo., Judy (Nott) Works (Fred), Iola, and Monte Nott (Teri), Monument, Colo.; her grandchildren, Cody, Sam and Emma Nott, Dylan, Abby and Colby Works, and Gareth and Maya Nott.

A private celebration of life will be held at a future date in Cuchara, Colo. Patsy’s family would be honored to have remembrance donations in her name to the Cuchara Hermosa or the Cuchara Chapel scholarship fund.
