Patty Sue Karr, 44, of LaHarpe died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at her home.
She was born May 16, 1966, in Iola, to James Lee and Sally Sue (Dillman) Smith. She grew up in the Gas and Iola areas.
On April 26, 1985, she married Kenneth Lee Karr. They made their home in LaHarpe.
She was a certified nurse’s aide and certified medication aide. She worked in many of the area nursing homes. She was working at Community Care Connections doing in-home care when her health failed.
She enjoyed mud truck runs and caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of the home; two daughters, Sunshine Jones and her husband, Jason, and Jamie Karns and her husband, Jon, all of LaHarpe; two grandchildren, Aerianna and Cadence Jones; her mother, Sally VanSandt and her husband, Mike, Medford, Ore.; two sisters, Sheila Foster, Iola, and Belinda Dyer and her husband, Brent, Toronto; two brothers, John Smith, Beckley, W.Va., and Kenneth Skaggs, Humboldt; several nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Buddy and Scrappy.
Her father, James Lee Smith, and her in-laws, Ray Alfred and Betty Jean Karr, died earlier.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola.
