Rex J. Piesker, 75, Greenville, Wis., went to his heavenly home on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born Dec. 1, 1939 in Elk City, son of the late John and Fannie (Owen) Piesker.
Rex graduated in 1957 from Elsmore High School in Elsmore. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army following high school from 1960 to 1963. On June 14, 1963, he was united in marriage to Jeannette Milroy in Miami, Okla. He worked at the General Motors Assembly Division Leeds Plant in Kansas City, Mo., for 23 years, retiring in 1988 when the plant closed. Rex was a member of the United Methodist Church in Richmond from 1980 to 2001.
In December 2001, he moved to Greenville, Wis., to be near his daughter, Debbie, and family. After moving to Wisconsin, he joined Faith Community United Methodist Church in Greenville. Following his retirement, he had cleaning and janitorial jobs, including both churches they were members of. He also worked for Service Master which included cleaning the post office in Greenville. Rex enjoyed riding his mower and doing yardwork. He was willing and enjoyed being able to help others in any way. He enjoyed living in Wisconsin, making many friends mostly from his church family. Family was very important to Rex, and his grandchildren had a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his wife Jeannette; children, Randall (Glyne) Piesker, Harrisonville, Mo., and their child, Noah, and Randall’s daughter, Melissa; Deborah (Steven) Lorfeld, Hortonville, Wis., and their children Mariah and Christopher; a sister, Bethel (Max) Ludlum; a niece, Janet (Steve) Shadden, and their children, Kaylan, Kacie and Kari; and other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother- and father-in-law, Jesse and Viola Milroy, and a nephew, Danny Ludlum.
A memorial service for Rex will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Community United Methodist Church in Greenville, with the Rev. Don Olm officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the church 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday.
