Susan Catron, age 50, peacefully passed away in May 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born to George and Shirley Catron and was their youngest daughter.
Growing up as the fifth out of six children, she was a very independent and rambunctious individual. You could not keep her from being outside, playing with her friends and siblings, helping family out in the garden, or going on many camping trips.
As Susan grew up, her attention turned towards music. She played xylophone and piano in high school. As part of the marching band, Susan joined her classmates in St. Louis for a national competition. She continued to love playing and listening to music, as well as going to many concerts, the rest of her life.
She is survived by her parents, George and Shirley; siblings, Steve, Sherri, Dan, Jon, and Mike Catron; brother-in-law, Brian Williams; sisters-in-law, Diana Catron, Sandy Mueller, and Sara Frederick; godmother, Ilsa Keller; two nieces, three nephews, one great-nephew, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and her dog, Nibbler.
There are no amount of words that can express how special Susan was to us. We hope she knows how much she was loved!
A funeral mass will be held at St. John’s Church at 11 a.m., in Iola, on Saturday, June 13.
Flowers or cards can be sent to the church; please send donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers or cards.
