Tom Fudge Sr., 72, of LaHarpe died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at his home.
He was born May 16, 1939, in Iola, to Harry and Obreta (Vest) Fudge.
On May 3, 1957, Tom married Karren J. Batemon in Carlyle. He worked for M & M Packing along with working pipeline construction in different parts of the country before settling a mile south of Gas where he operated a salvage yard. He drove trucks for Ellsworth, SEKAN and Whitaker Construction. The couple have made their home in LaHarpe for four years.
He is survived by his wife of the home; a son, Tom Jr., LaHarpe; two daughters, Brenda Bailey, Westphalia; and Carla Stierwalt, Iola; two brothers, Mike Fudge, LaHarpe, and Joe Moore, Kingman; three sisters, Marye F. Haley, Burlington, Judy Moore, Kingman, and Patti Miller, Augusta; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Theresa, a son, Walter A., infant brother, Harry Allen Fudge, and three sisters, Jackie Ann Bradshaw, Connie Eineichner and an infant, Deanna Kay Fudge.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Little Theater in the Recreation Community Building at Riverside Park in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Gas Cemetery at a later date.
