Vacil Floyd Poulson, 65, of Stark, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1944, in Carthage, Mo., to Chester Vacil and Maggie Rosalee (Mathis) Poulson. He grew in Carthage, Kansas City and Modesto, Calif.
On Nov. 5, 1964, he and Linda Walker were married in Keyes, Calif. He lived at Modesto and Kansas City before moving to Stark in 1992. He worked as a gas station mechanic, farmer, truck driver and sanitation engineer over the years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and dirt track races.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Cheryl Aiello, Lawrence, Sandra Linney, and her husband, Brian, Orrick, Mo., Tracy Poulson and James Jones, Stark, and Melissa Culp, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; his stepmother, Inez Walker, Windsor, Mo.; four brothers, Lee Howell, Kansas City, Wayne Poulson, Carson, Calif., Mike Poulson, Vancouver, Wash., Ace Redden, Pittsburg, and Larry Dale Byler, Missouri; three sisters, Vicky Andersen, Tuscumbia, Mo., Marilyn Ratliff, Tonganoxie, and Theda White, Galesburg, Ill.; other family members, Rickie Aiello, LaHarpe, Billie Culp, Parsons, and Jim Beth, Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
His parents, his stepfather, Murle Redden, and a brother, Chester Dale Poulson, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie. Cremation will follow. No services are scheduled.
