Victoria Ruth Johnson, 63, Iola, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at her home.
Vickie was born Nov. 22, 1951, in Wichita, the daughter of Charles T. and Donna Lou (Page) Dietrich. The family moved to the Iola area in 1956 from Claremore, Okla. She attended Carlyle School, graduated from Iola High School in 1970 and attended Allen County Community College.
On Feb. 18, 1973, Vickie married Samuel D. Johnson at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola. They have always made their home in Iola. She was a stay-at-home mom for 22 years and had a daycare in her home. She worked at Inter-Collegiate Press and retired from Herff-Jones in Iola.
Vickie enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and helping others.
Her husband survives, as do a sister, Marsha Lord, and husband John, Iola; children, Jason Johnson and wife Cly, Paola, Jarrid Johnson and wife Candace, Iola, Kristin Baca and husband Gabriel, Austin, Texas, Lisa England, Chilhowee, Mo., and Samuel Johnson Jr. and wife Melissa, Warrensburg, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Lisa Johnson, Pittsburg; nephews, Ryan Lord and wife Emily, Kansas City, Kan., and Charles Eric Lord, wife Jessica and son Evret Lord, Sheffield, England; grandchildren, Austin Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Ashton Johnson, Amber Johnson, Jacque England, Glenna England, Brenda England, Samuel Johnson III and wife Nicolle, Lindsay Johnson, Cayla Johnson, Morgan McCartney, Casey McCartney and Larry McCartney; and great-grandchildren, Jamie England, Jack England, Jaylinn England, Aroura England, Kristopher England, Izabella England, Emma Johnson, Anderson Johnson and Stormy Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held later.
Memorial gifts are suggested to Hope Unlimited and may be left with Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
