Virginia Alviera (Lexa) Wiles entered the arms of Jesus whom she served a better part of her life on Sunday, April 23, 2017, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family as they sang her way up those heavenly stairs.
 She was born on July 18, 1925, in St. Louis, Mo., to Frank and Betsie Lexa. She graduated high school at the young age of 16. She married Raymond John Wiles in June of 1944. They lived in Kansas where she went on to receive many music awards and teach Sunday School. She was also a music director. She was state president of the Women’s Missionary Union District in both Kansas and Missouri. She retired from TG&Y department store after 20 years. She was also a seamstress,
 Virginia was a wife to one and mother to six with one child preceding her in death.
 She is survived by her sons, Raymond John Wiles (Linda), Hardy, Ark., and Westly Scott Wiles (Denise), Rus Rus, Honduras; daughters Alta Carroll, Hardy, Neila Pearl Pippins (Alla) Russellville, Mo., and Darla Luann Langford (Larry), Oronogo, Mo.; 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Raymond John Wiles, daughter Theresa Yvonne Wiles, sister Pearl Lexa, and three brothers, William Lexa, Lyman Lexa and Francis Lexa.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wortham Funeral Home Oak Hill Chapel in Highland, Ark. A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Hardy. Interment will be held in the Bronaugh Cemetery located just outside of Hardy.
