Wanda Jean (Ridge) Clay, 70, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015 at Diversicare in Chanute. Wanda was born on April 21, 1945 to Ernest and Ruth (Sutterby) Ridge in Fort Scott.
Wanda married Gerald Clay on June 1, 1962. They later divorced. Wanda was a member of the Christian Church in Humboldt. She liked flowers, gardening, baking and collecting dolls.
Wanda is survived by her two daughters; Cheryl Anderson and husband Glen, Humboldt, and Carol Angleton and husband Dwight, Humboldt; brother, Gary Ridge and wife Traci, Iola; two sisters, Rhonda Riddle and husband Steve, Chanute, and Donna Klauman and husband Elton, Phoenix City, Ala.; three grandchildren, Todd Anderson, Chelsie and Kassie Angleton; two great-grandchildren Cole and Haylie Anderson and one on the way, baby Decker; friends, Virginia Robertson, Ann Inman, Pat Burton and Jean Moore who were also her caregivers; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack and Larry Ridge; and nephew Paul Ridge.
Cremation has been requested.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Faith Assembly of God Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses and to the American Cancer Society and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home at 101 N. Highland Chanute, KS 66720.
