November 1992
Eighty pieces of property and 64 separate rights to develop oil, gas and other minerals were sold by the county for taxes. The most valuable parcel was the south half of the former IMP Boat plant, which included three buildings now occupied by Sea Environments, Inc. It was sold to ACB, Inc. for $78,600, about $15 more than the taxes owed. Iola Industries, Inc., the communitys economic development arm, loaned ACB the money to make the purchase. The sale brought in a total of $111,188.
