I sincerely hope that most Kansans have read–or at least heard of–the New York Times article about Kansas Senator Roger Marshall and the lawsuits he filed against patients while practicing medicine.
The article outlined how Marshall sued 700 patients for medical debts over several decades; how 81 of them were arrested for missing court dates; how patients’ paychecks and bank accounts were garnished; and how patients were routinely charged 18% interest on unpaid bills.
