Letter to the editor — January 27, 2016

Dear editor,
Upon reading Larry H. Walden’s letter to the editor on Jan. 23, I had to write also.
I am an immigrant, before entering the U.S. in the year of 1949 we went for weeks for examinations and documentation to ensure that we were in good health and character, to enter the U.S. and that when we enter we were here to build not destroy. I’m proud of my documents and don’t mind showing them to vote or at airport.
Because of knee replacement surgery I have to be scanned from head to toe, it’s only for my safety to. If you have to show your identity for a concert, why not to vote.
Lillian Orzeckowski,
Iola, Kan.
